Giveaway and Guest Post by Sins of the Son Author Linda Poitevin

Today we have a guest post from the author of Sins of the Son, Linda Poitevin, who has compiled a list of the songs she listened to while writing the second novel in her Girgori Legacy series.

Thanks so much for having me to visit today!

I recently had the chance to share with readers a few of the songs from my playlist that I find particularly inspiring to my writing process. The fabulous response reminded me of just how powerful a connection music can be. My choices really resonated with readers, and one even made a suggestion of her own for a song she thought fit with the storyline of The Grigori Legacy series (I’ve since added it to my playlist). So when Jessica and Lisa suggested that I post another part of my playlist here today, I jumped at the chance.

Here, then, are a few of the songs I listen to while writing…I hope you enjoy!

Disarm, by Smashing Pumpkins

Dream On, by Aerosmith

Like a Stone, by Audioslave

Gone Away, by the Offspring

How You Remind Me, by Nickelback

Man in the Box, by Alice in Chains

Numb, by Linkin Park

Not Strong Enough, by Apocalyptica (with Brent Smith)

Psychopomp, by The Tea Party

Riot, by Three Days Grace

Sing for Absolution, by Muse

You’re Going Down, by Sick Puppies

If you’re familiar with Sins of the Angels and/or Sins of the Son, what do you think? Have I chosen my playlist well? Do you have any other suggestions?

And if you’re new to the series, do my selections intrigue you? Perhaps make you want to see if the books live up to my music choices…?

About Sins of the Son

A detective with a secret…

When homicide detective Alexandra Jarvis sees a photo of Seth Benjamin on a police bulletin, she knows that Heaven’s plan to halt Armageddon has gone terribly wrong. As the only mortal aware of Seth’s true nature, only she can save him.

An exiled angel turned assassin…

Aramael was a hunter of Fallen Angels until a traitor forced him into earthly exile. Now, with no powers and only a faint memory of Alex, his mortal soulmate, he will stop at nothing to redeem himself—even if it means destroying Seth in the name of the Creator.

A world with little chance of redemption…

As Alex’s need to protect Seth sets her on a fiery course with the determined Aramael, the coming conflict between them may push the world over the edge—and into the very chaos they’re trying to prevent.

  1. Yes, those songs really make me interested in reading this book. Gotta love all of those early 90s songs from Alice in Chains, Smashing Pumpkins, and then the Audioslave song with former Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell….love this music! How about adding Change (In the House of Flies) to the list? It was used in an episode of Alias (Tv show) when she was just shooting her way out of being cornered. So awesome! I would love to read this series now. This is the first I have heard of them. Thanks for the chance to win.

  2. I found the emotion in those songs very appropriate for what I remember from the first book. I’m guessing the intensity just rachets up even higher in the second book.

    Thanks for sharing!
