When I was younger, I couldn’t get enough of Cosmopolitan magazine. Known for its fun, fearless attitude and a strong focus on relationships and sex, Cosmo is attempting to bring the hottest romantic literature to its readers through a deal with Harlequin, a book publisher known for its steamy, bodice rippers.
Cosmo Red Hot Reads from Harlequin won’t be available until May 2013, but once it is launched, you can expect at least 2 original e-books each month from some of Harlequin’s hottest writers. All of the stories will run about 30,000 words and will focus on modern, young females living the free-spirited, fearless lifestyle Cosmo has been championing for decades.
“Cosmo readers love fabulous fiction and if you picked up Fifty Shades of Grey then this is the book series for you,” said Cosmopolitan’s editor-in-chief Joanna Coles. “This is fiction for the modern girl negotiating modern love—with all its unpredictability and complications!”
There is no word yet on which platforms will carry the series, just that the books will be available on a “variety” of them.
