Giveaway and Kimberly Kinrade’s Dream Cast for Forbidden Mind

Mind reading, walking through walls, mind control. Forbidden Mind, the first novel in the Forbidden series, is a great novel, but it also has the makings of an excellent movie. Who would author Kimberly Kinrade cast?

Casting Call is now open for FORBIDDEN MIND, the screenplay based on the award-winning Amazon bestseller of the same name by Kimberly Kinrade.

Hey, a girl’s gotta have some dreams, right? While Forbidden Mind might not have a movie deal yet, there has been some interest, so let’s see who we can come up with to cast this movie, shall we?

And I gotta tell you, this was harder than I thought. So don’t hold it against me if I fall back on some tried and true names.

When I call your name, come on forward and pick up a script. It’s time to get this show on the road.

*drum roll please*

Taylor Lautner, thank you for your audition. While you won’t be shape-shifting into any wolves in this movie, you will get to walk through walls! You’ve been cast as Luke, the charming twin of Lucy and best friend to Sam.

You are strong, dependable and funny… and did I mention sneaky? After all, you do spy on people for a living!

So get ready to walk through walls and spend all your time with girls who read minds or can always tell if you’re lying… (aren’t you glad Bella didn’t have that power? )– though I imagine you are pretty tired of people having full access to your mind, at least you know the part well! You’ll be a natural as Luke.

Here’s your script. Be ready for rehearsals next week. (And yes, we will find reasons for you to run around without a shirt… even though the story line doesn’t call for it… because… well… you’re hot!)

Next up… Vanessa Marano as Lucy! We just adored you in Switched At Birth and think you will rock the spunky, snarky, fiesta roll of Lucy. Oh, and did I mention you can always tell when people are lying? Bet you wish you had that para-power in your current television series, eh? Might’ve saved you a lot of heartache.

As a bonus, you get to be super tight with Taylor. As a not-so-great-bonus, you’re related to him in the movie, so no love interest, sorry. But don’t worry, you’ll get some romantic action in Forbidden Life—and it’s going to be pretty epic!

Okay, the couple you’ve all been waiting for…

Paul Wesley, please step up. Yup, once again you get cast in the super hunky main love interest with supernatural powers. You are extra strong and you can control minds. Not much different than being a vampire, only you don’t have to live off blood or wear an ugly ring to play in the sun. How much do you love me now? Welcome to the cast and enjoy the freedom! (Even though you are kinda being help prisoner for much of the book and movie… )

And finally… the girl we all know and love. She’s sweet, she’s artistic and she reads minds…

Britt Robertson, you’re up for Sam! I watched Life Unexpected straight through and just loved it. I cried at the end. You will make a perfect Sam with your blend of innocence and world-weary wisdom. Plus you are super cute and you have her eyes! I know you will bring this incredible girl to life and give her story justice. And you totally nailed the whole growing up without parents thing, so you and Sam will get along just fine. (Just be ready to die your hair brown, k?)

So, welcome everyone. Sorry to those who auditioned but didn’t make it. We will be casting more paranormal teens in the next book/movie so don’t give up. You might still get some para-powers of your very own.

~~Oh, and if you who are reading this happen to be in the movie business, have your people call my people. This would make a great movie or television series!~~

About Forbidden Mind (Forbidden #1)

Winner of the 2011 Forward National Literature Award

She reads minds.
He controls minds.
Together, they might get out alive.

49% of Americans believe their government officials are honest.

I don’t know these officials, or their supporters, but I know their secrets, and 49% of Americans are wrong.

My employers pay me well to be right, to know things others can’t. But I don’t know why they brought that boy in, strapped to a stretcher, barely conscious. He asked me for help when I could give none.

I’m a wealthy spy, a talented artist, a martial arts black belt, and a prisoner.

They tell me that on my eighteenth birthday, I will be released, free to go to the college of my dreams.

It’s my eighteenth birthday, and a man in black is at my door. I know he’s not here to free me.

I know, because I can read minds.

My name is Sam, and this is my story.

So begins the tale of Sam and Drake–from the time they link minds, forging a bond that leads to an unconventional romance–to their fight for survival against the corrupt, twisted organization known as ‘Rent-A-Kid.’

“…a thrilling, dark and deeply romantic read that had me sitting on the edge of my seat and eagerly awaiting the next installment.” ~ Refracted Light Young Adult Book Reviews

“The plot is very ALIAS and DARK ANGEL-like with X-MEN as its backdrop (awesome combo!). Forbidden Mind BLEW my mind!” ~ Sour Skittles Book Blog

  1. I like the picks for the cast. I went to see, and the Forbidden mind is not free at Amazon yet. Just FYI. (I have it already, but was going to post a tweet about it, but its not free yet) I am on this tour too. 🙂

    • Yes! I’m so sorry. My publishers delayed the free days until Forbidden Life comes out, since it’s supposed to coincide with that launch. The last book in this trilogy ended up being so much longer than anyone thought, that the launch has been delayed to finish the editing and formatting. It should be out between the 6th and 16th (hopefully sooner rather than later!) and then FM will be free for 5 days!

I apologize for the confusion and change of plans. Vickie will be sending out an email I believe once FL is ready and FM goes free. Thank you so much!
